Hard Work.
Putting People First.
Kindness.

Clay is running for the South Dakota Senate because he wants to deliver real solutions for the people of District 12. Our state is facing real issues our legislators should be working together to solve, but too often our representation in Pierre is focused on petty fights or just not getting the job done. Clay will bring youthful energy and a fresh perspective, along with real legislative experience working in the State Legislature and the US Congress.

Meet Clay

Clay Hoffman grew up in the small, west river town of Winner, South Dakota, and like many South Dakotans, found his way to Sioux Falls after attending the University of South Dakota. (Don’t worry Jacks, Clay is bipartisan: he previously worked for the SDSU Foundation). He works for one of the largest non-profits in Sioux Falls providing essential services for youth and their families.

District 12 is home to the Sioux Falls retail corridor, two premier institutions of higher learning in Augustana University and the University of Sioux Falls, and beautiful spaces like Sertoma Park and the Outdoor Campus. Clay will work hard to ensure District 12 is a place where families feel safe and every family has the opportunity to thrive.

Clay’s values never waver:

  • Clay knows the power of hard work. He’ll work hard to earn your vote and work even harder to deliver for District 12 in Pierre.

  • Clay believes in putting people first. He works hard to build strong relationships and give everyone a fair shake, because people are our greatest asset.

  • Every day, Clay chooses kindness. Kindness is too often missing from our political conversations, and Clay wants to change that.

Clay will go to Pierre to solve problems, including tackling the childcare crisis head on. From education, to healthcare, to growing our economy, Clay is committed to delivering real solutions for the people of District 12.
